At Complete Physio & Rehab the focus is starting with a thorough Physiotherapy assessment. This will confirm diagnosis, project prognosis, allow a holistic understanding for the presenting problem, and plan treatment. Treatments can include advice, acupuncture, soft tissue massage, mobilisations, manipulations, kinesiology taping and particular focus on rehab. Rehab will be patient specific and be fitting to your needs and required return to function. This empowers you not only with a good outcome but also gain long term benefits as well.
I have specialised in the rehab of muscular, tendon, fascial and joint problems since 2000, with a special interest in lower limb problems and Acupuncture. I also work alongside Orthopaedic Surgeons at an acute NHS trust providing me with good insight into lower limb surgery and post operative recovery.

Caroline York

I qualified with a BSc(Hons) from the University of East Anglia in 1998. I have since worked in two NHS acute Trusts, one of which I continue to work at. I have worked at two different private practices over the years (Hands on Physiotherapy and Sale Physiotherapy). I completed by full 80 hours Acupuncture training in 2008. I am a member of The Acupuncture Association for Physiotherapists (AACP) and am Clinical Lead for Acupuncture within my present NHS job. I completed a Diploma on Injection Therapy in 2006, and although I infrequently use this skill it allows me to have a good understanding of the role of steroid injections, when they are advisable, risk vs benefits and the role and timing of rehab after an injection. I completed a MSc in Advanced Practice at Salford University in 2007 which broadened my knowledge and skills within the speciality of Trauma and Orthopaedics. This has supported my role at my present NHS job, as an Extended Scope Practitioner. This role allows me to work alongside the Orthopaedic surgeons, assessing new patient GP referrals, requesting blood tests or appropriate investigations such as X rays and scans. I am also able to list for surgery such as total knee or hip replacements and knee arthroscopies. I belong to the Arthroplasty Care Practitioner Association, which is a collection of nurses, physios and occupational therapists working to improve care leading up to and after joint replacement surgery. I attend a conference with Orthopaedic Surgeons to maintain updated knowledge around this speciality. My Physiotherapy role within the NHS is as a Clinical lead with a specialist focus on hips. I support teaching and supervision of other qualified staff and students. My experience and enjoyment stems from my love of rehab. Although I am specialised in lower limb rehab my private practice work allows me to work with any part of the body and apply my love of rehab and pain management. This is through the application of exercise prescription, acupuncture, soft tissue massage, mobilisations, manipulations and kinesiology taping. My extended role allows greater knowledge to impart regarding diagnosis and prognosis and long term management. The perfect mix! I have recently completed a HND Diploma in Aromatherapy (2023) and create therapeutic Reed Diffusers. These are created to support different organs and systems of the body as well as smelling great. Outside work I am never resting! With two children who play several sports, a husband, who is a girls football coach and myself, a childrens running coach there is always some muddy kit or trainers lying around our house. I also enjoy Yoga, kettle bells and running, but not all at the same time.

My current role is that of a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist, working in a busy Outpatients Department. Prior to this, I worked within a range of specialities, including Trauma and Orthopaedics, Stroke Rehabilitation and working in the community setting. My previous experience within Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy was primarily lower limb focused, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I have since transitioned into a new role, which has seen me take on more of an upper limb focused caseload, while simultaneously allowing me to continue treating patients with both lower limb and spinal conditions. This has allowed me to hone my skills by assessing and treating patients with a wide variety of conditions. I have a special interest in both the lower limb and shoulder rehab, but due to my varied caseload and my work in the private sector, I am able to apply my knowledge and passion for rehab to all areas of the body, via a range of modalities, including, exercise prescription, joint mobilisations and soft tissue massage. Whether you are somebody requiring support to get back to completing activities of daily living, or are a high-level athlete, aiming to get back in to sport, I would take great pleasure in assisting you along your journey. I myself am a healthy individual who understands both the physical and mental demands of day to day life. Outside of my NHS and private work as a Physiotherapist, I enjoy keeping busy via a mixture of resistance and cardiovascular training in the gym. I am a current member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, which is the professional, educational and trade union body for Physiotherapists practicing in the UK. This provides me with access to online journals and learning portals, which is one of the many ways, I ensure I am up to date with the latest professional guidelines and the most relevant and up to date evidence based practices.
