Whether it’s pain, fatigue, poor posture, stress or anxiety, we all have an ailment that makes day to day life that little bit more difficult. Whatever is holding you back, it might be time to consider massage therapy.
I’ve been a massage therapist since 2012 and I’ve learnt that people rarely suffer from one isolated problem. I treat everyone who comes to me as an individual and I find out what is happening to them and, more importantly, why. It’s only then that we’ll be able to find the best therapy to help. Massage therapy is about making you feel better as a whole, enhancing your overall health and well-being.
I hadn’t realised the range of benefits that can be achieved from a massage until I experienced it myself. I suffered a shoulder injury from dancing and struggled for well over a year. I visited the doctors but was only prescribed ibuprofen and rest. Unfortunately there was little benefit and my pain continued to worsen. It was then that I decided to book myself a sports massage. After the first treatment I felt some relief from the problem. Within two months I was nearly back to full fitness.
It was then that I realised you don’t have to put up with chronic pain and discomfort. Massage therapy can help anyone overcome physical difficulties and get them back to doing everyday tasks and the things that they enjoy. There is even the potential to become pain free.
Qualifications
I found the massage therapy that I received so beneficial that it inspired me to train as a sports and remedial massage therapist myself. So in 2011 I began my BTEC Level 5 qualification with the Oxford School of Sports Massage.
I have been practicing since I qualified in 2012, and now have a great deal of experience to add to that. I also have a Level 3 Personal Training qualification, Level 3 Exercise Referral and I’m a Sivananda Yoga Teacher CYT 200. This means that I can help with exercises and offer more advice and support for what you can do around the massage therapy to make your problems easier.
The therapies I offer include Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Remedial Massage, Sports Massage and Soft Tissue Therapy. The most important thing is to find out what’s going to be best for you.
I’m very proud to say that I have a great deal of loyal customers and I see many new people from word of mouth recommendations. It’s so rewarding to know that my therapies are really helping people.
Please see my testimonials page if you’d like to find out what others have to say about the work I do.
If you’d like to discuss how massage could help you, or you’d like to book an appointment, please contact me for more information. Or to find out more about how I’m working during the coronavirus pandemic, please see my Covid-19 page on my website.
